As an Accounting Manager for Hearne Corporation, Matthew is responsible for ensuring accuracy in general ledger processing, reconcile accounts, processing a weekly payroll, managing cash, preparing tax documents, and actively participating in budgeting and forecasting activities.
Matthew is responsible for: Maintaining timely and accurate general ledger (posting entries, recording accruals, etc.); Maintaining timely and accurate account reconciliations; Preparing monthly financial statements, including monthly WIP reports; Utilize Timberline to record, store and analyze information; Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes; Classify, record, and summarize financial data to compile and keep financial records for Subcontractors; Comply with Federal, state and company policies , procedures & regulations; Code documents according to company procedures; Reconcile, note and report discrepancies found in records, leading annual financial audit process; Daily cash management, including cash forecasting; Participating in the budgeting and forecasting process as requested; Oversee accounts payable and purchasing; Manage risk insurance policies yearly renewals and audit process; Manage project contract administration and monthly contract billing; Manage all subcontractor contract administration including certified payroll, payments and lien releases; Understanding and practical application of sales tax regulations for contractors; Preparation of quarterly sales tax returns; Administering the In-house payroll process including certified payroll, prevailing wage determinations and payroll liabilities; Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll reporting.
