We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
Cystic Fibrosis touched our lives 24 years ago when Bill and Nancy Hearne gave birth to their son Liam. Dedicating their lives ending the suffering caused by this recessive genetic trait, The Hearne Family has been instrumental in raising over $1.5 Million to fund the research that will one day end this disease.
In addition to their personal mission, The Hearne Family makes it a point to support as many charitable organizations as they can throughout San Diego. Driven by challenges within the lives of our team members, we are honored to have been able to offer support to the following organizations:
W.E. O'Neil Construction strives to continue to give back 10% of our net profit each year.
For it is in giving that we receive.
Saint Francis of Assisi (1182-1226) Catholic Saint, Founder Of Franciscans

SAN DIEGO-)--The Challenged Athletes Foundation’s (CAF) eighth annual Dodge Million Dollar Challenge will kick-off Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at Cavallo Point Lodge (601 Murray Cir, Sausalito, CA 94965). More than 100 cyclists, including 12 physically challenged athletes, celebrities and professional athletes will embark on the seven-day, 620-mile ride down the scenic yet demanding California coastline, riding from San Francisco to San Diego – all to raise funds and awareness for those with physical challenges.
“The MDC journey is about so much more than the miles you cover”
Each participant in the event, which sold-out in a record nine hours, will raise $12,500 or more to reach the goal of more than $1 million to fund grants for adaptive sports equipment, training and competition expenses, mentoring and sports clinics.
CAF is proud to have the Dodge brand as a global partner and presenting sponsor of the Million Dollar Challenge. The Dodge brand will assist in the event roll-out by leading out the cyclists with eight 2013 Dodge vehicles. In addition to their title sponsorship, the Dodge brand is underwriting two cyclists for the event, including Chrysler Group employee Marc Henretta, a paraplegic.
“The MDC journey is about so much more than the miles you cover,” said Dean Roeper, Co-Chair of the Dodge Million Dollar Challenge.
“It is about discovering the incredible capabilities of the human body and spirit. Riding side-by-side with the very challenged athletes who benefit from this event is truly a life-changing experience, and the speed with which this event sells out is a true testament of that.”
Participating in the challenge will be 12 challenged athletes including Creighton Wong (Oakland resident), an above-knee amputee, Sean Simonson (Palo Alto resident), a former firefighter who became a quadriplegic after a mountain biking accident, and Kevin Korenthal (Santa Clarita resident), a below-knee amputee who lost his leg due to a car accident.
Also riding are former Team Garmin-Sharp pro cyclist Christian Van de Velde and NBA Hall of Famer Bill Walton who, after 36 surgeries himself, understands the importance of being able to ride his bike every day. Additional MDC event sponsors include SKLZ, ROTH Capital, Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa, Skin Medica, SPY, Barracuda Networks, Qualcomm, Sixteen-Fifty Creative Intelligence, Bank of America, ZICO, GU, Cliff Bar and MD Revolution.
